Bio
I am Nathaniel J. Darkish, a horror writer and the co-host of the podcast Scream Kings. I have a degree in creative writing from Utah State University and work as a high school English and creative writing teacher. I live in northern Utah with my wife and two children.
My Writing
My story "Leftover Monstrosities" was published in The Witching Time of Night (The Salt City Genre Writers, 2020). A story I co-wrote with N.J. Gallegos, "Cutting Room," was published Dread Mondays (Whisper House Press, 2025). I have a story titled "Bright Lights, Growling Animals" that is being published in the Blood in the Sandstone anthology (Collective Tales Publishing) this fall. I have also published poetry in Space and Time magazine. I have written and two novels, both currently unpublished, and am working on a third.
Scream Kings
Three friends, myself, plus horror writer N.J. Gallegos, and occult enthusiast Max George, discuss horror movies, TV shows, books, and video games, creepy folklore, and the occult, plus regularly feature guests in the horror community including filmmakers and writers. The show has been going strong since 2017 and is available anywhere you listen to podcasts.
